TECHTALK GLOSSARY
Accommodation: Change in the shape and thickness of the crystalline lens that brings near objects into focus. The "auto focus" of the eye.
Gas permeable lenses: Contact lenses made of rigid molded plastic that transmit oxygen to the cornea.
Neovascularization: Proliferation of blood vessels in tissues not normally containing them.
Papillary conjunctivitis: Inflammation of the conjunctiva characterized by bumps on the underside of the eyelid.
Triage: A method for determining treatment priority based on the severity of a patient's complaint.
