CIBA Vision has introduced Focus Dailies Progressives with AquaRelease, an improved version of its daily disposable presbyopic lens that also includes a sustained release, blink-activated moisturizing agent to provide all-day comfort, according to CIBA. The company adds that the AquaRelease moisturizing agent may in particular benefit older wearers, who tend to have poorer tear films and drier eyes.
Focus Dailies Progressives with AquaRelease are manufactured in nelfilcon A (69 percent water). Parameters include a diameter of 13.8mm, base curve of 8.6mm and powers of +5.00D to –6.00D in 0.25D steps (effective add up to +3.00D). Call (800) 241-5999 or visit www.cibavision.com.

Sanitize and Moisturize Hands
Gulden Ophthalmics offers the GermControl Touchless Hand Sanitizing Unit and its companion GermStar Instant Hand Sanitizing Solution. The unit employs an infrared sensor to dispense disinfecting solution when hands are positioned at the dispensing nozzle. Gulden claims that the unit's touch-less design prevents cross- and recontamination from occurring. Users can adjust the dispensing volume of the disinfecting solution, and the unit's design has a patented gravity dispense so there's no motor to wear out, according to the manufacturer. The dispenser uses refill bags to eliminate evaporation, spills and overfilling.
