Updated Silicone Hydrogel Available
Vistakon has launched Acuvue Advance Plus Brand Contact Lenses with Hydraclear Technology. Acuvue Advance Plus is a redesigned and enhanced successor to the company's Acuvue Advance lenses. Vistakon says that Acuvue Advance Plus offers improvements in initial and overall comfort as well as in visual clarity compared to Acuvue Advance.
Acuvue Advance Plus also employs Ultra-Clean Technology, which Vistakon says helps resist deposits and keeps the contact lens surface clean and feeling smooth throughout the entire wear cycle. The new lens comes six to a box, and the 24-pack value packaging makes the purchase of an annual supply more affordable for wearers, according to Vistakon.
ACUVUE ADVANCE PLUS IS AN IMPROVED VERSION OF THE ORIGINAL ACUVUE ADVANCE LENS.

New Lubricant Drop for MGD Patients
Alcon has launched Systane Balance Lubricant Eye Drops. The new drop contains HP Guar, borate, sorbitol, propylene glycol and Alcon's exclusive LipiTech System, which the company says is a unique emulsion technology of mineral oil and an anionic phospholipid. Systane Balance is designed to restore the lipid layer and the natural tear film.
Patients who suffer from dry eye associated with meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD) can use Systane Balance to restore their lipid layer, re-establish their natural tear film and maintain their tear film stability, according to the company. Alcon says that physicians observed an association between the use of Systane Balance and better tear film stabilization as well as an improvement in the thickening of the lipid layer. In addition, patients reported minimal blur after instilling Systane Balance.
Systane Balance is widely available at major retailers in the United States and will become available in Latin America later this year. Call (800) 451-3937 or visit www.systane.com.
