ADVANCED VISION TECHNOLOGIES LAUNCHES NATURALENS MINI-SCLERAL
Advanced Vision Technologies (AVT) recently launched its Naturalens Mini-Scleral lens, which AVT says is a novel, simplified approach to fitting scleral lenses. The diameter range is 13.8mm to 15.4mm, which is easier to handle for many patients who are not comfortable with application/removal of full-size sclerals, according to AVT.
The company says that the Naturalens Mini-Scleral offers a thinner profile that, combined with the smaller diameter, enables more oxygen exchange compared to full-size sclerals. Multifocal, front toric, and toric peripheral curve designs are all available. The lens can be made in any material but includes the Hydra-PEG (Tangible Science) coating only when manufactured in Optimum (Contamac) materials.
AVT says that a trial set is available but not required to fit the Naturalens Mini-Scleral; elevation topography, Ks, and the Rx are all that is needed. The Naturalens Mini-Scleral is warranted 100% with the SimpleFIT Warranty.
ESCHENBACH OPTIK INTRODUCES NEW FOLDING MAGNIFIER
Eschenbach Optik of America, Inc. announced its new VisoPocket folding magnifier, which the company says features an ultra-thin lens, 2.5x (6D) magnification, and a built-in leather case. Its 2.9in x 1.9in diffractive aspheric lens provides a wide field of view and is extremely lightweight, making it ideal for quick viewing tasks such as reading menus, maps, bills, prescriptions, and more, according to Eschenbach Optik.
The VisoPocket is available in three colors (black, brown, and bordeaux) and includes a cut-out tab on the corner of the case, which the company says allows the lens to be pulled out quickly and folded back in when not needed. Its compact design makes it lightweight and discrete, so it is easy to carry in a pocket or purse, according to Eschenbach Optik.
The VisoPocket folding magnifier comes with a limited lifetime warranty. A countertop display is available for showcasing it in an office.
