Joseph P. Shovlin, OD, FAAO, DipCL, is a senior optometrist at Northeastern Eye Institute in Scranton, Pa. He is a diplomate and past chair of the Section on Cornea, Contact Lenses and Refractive Technologies of the American Academy of Optometry, past chair of the Contact Lens and Cornea Section of the American Optometric Association, and on the board of directors of the American Academy of Optometry. He has been an advisor/consultant for AMO and Bausch + Lomb.


Thomas P. Kislan, OD, is the founder and medical director of Stroudsburg Eye Specialists, Hazleton Eye Specialists and the Dry Eye Clinic of Northeastern Pennsylvania. He has been an advisor to Alcon, Allergan, AMO and Bausch + Lomb.
Eric Papas, PhD, MCOptom, FAAO, DipCL, is executive director of Research & Development and director of Post Graduate Studies at the Brien Holden Vision Institute and Vision Cooperative Research Centre, and a senior visiting fellow at the School of Optometry & Vision Science, University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. He has received research funds from Alcon, AMO, Allergan and Ciba Vision.
Thomas G. Quinn, OD, MS, FAAO, DipCL, practices in Athens, Ga., in a group setting. A graduate of The Ohio State University College of Optometry, he received his Masters of Science in Physiological Optics in 1981 and has served as a faculty member and research associate at the same institution. Dr. Quinn currently serves as Clinical Assistant Professor for The Ohio University College of Medicine and is an Area Manager for Vision Source. He has been an advisor/consultant to Alcon and Bausch + Lomb. He has received research support from Alcon, AMO, Bausch + Lomb and Vistakon.
Kirk Smick, OD, FAAO, is the chief of Optometry Services at the Clayton Eye Center in Morrow, Ga. Dr. Smick served as a member of the Georgia State Board of Optometry for 10 years, including 3 years as president. Dr. Smick is in charge of education for the Vision Expo programs. He has been a consultant for Allergan, Bausch + Lomb and Essilor.
Mary Jo Stiegemeier, OD, FAAO, DipCL is in private practice in Beachwood and Hudson, Ohio where she specializes in therapeutic contact lens fitting. She is one of the founding board members of Women of Vision, an organization dedicated to helping female optometrists. She is a Diplomate and secretary of The American Board of Optometry. She currently enjoys a faculty appointment as an Adjunct Assistant Clinical Professor at Pacific College of Optometry.
Mark Willcox, BSc, PhD, is Professor at the School of Optometry and Vision Science at the University of New South Wales and Chief Scientific Officer of the Brien Holden Vision Institute in Sydney, Australia. As a microbiologist, he studies ways to prevent bacterial contamination of contact lenses and lens cases. He has received research funding from Alcon, Allergan, AMO, and Bausch + Lomb.
