Haag-Streit has unveiled the cornea map for its flagship Lenstar 900 optical biometer. This feature is designed to provide clinicians with deeper insights into corneal astigmatism.
With the activation of a third infrared LED ring, the Lenstar 900 now captures 48 data points—an increase of 16 over previous versions—resulting in an axial curvature map over a 3 mm zone. According to Haag-Streit, this visualization aids in distinguishing between regular and irregular astigmatism and provides a clinical pathway for recommending or excluding toric lenses, ultimately leading to improved visual outcomes for patients.
The cornea map feature will be included standard with all new Lenstar 900 units. Existing users will be able to access the new capability by purchasing a license following the upcoming release of EyeSuite version i9.17.1.
