Treehouse Eyes has announced the appointment of industry veteran Tony Sommer as a strategic advisor. Sommer brings more than 20 years of leadership in vision care and specialty contact lenses to the role, with a deep concentration in myopia management, the company noted. In this role, Sommer will help shape growth strategy, expand innovative offerings for practices, and accelerate awareness of the myopia management category, the group stated.
In past roles, he has been involved in introducing and scaling early myopia management products, building international partnerships, and supporting practitioners in adopting new models of care. His experience spans both entrepreneurial ventures and global leaders, including CooperVision, Bausch + Lomb, Visioneering Technologies, and CIBA Vision.
In other news, Treehouse Eyes announced the launch of its Treehouse Vision System AI, a clinical decision support tool that equips optometrists with real-time, evidence-based recommendations to select and adjust treatment strategies for pediatric myopia. The Treehouse Vision System AI offers dynamic treatment suggestions based on a child’s age, progression rate, axial length, and other key variables. It also flags when a treatment modification may be warranted, providing a reliable, structured approach for reevaluation, Treehouse Eyes shared.
